Yenepoya University Sets World Record with 28-State Culinary Marathon in Just 28 Minutes

The Department of Hospitality Science, YIASCM, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) has achieved a remarkable World Record for the Fastest Culinary and Beverage Marathon in Each Indian State on National Tourism Day. In a unique celebration of India’s rich culinary heritage, 28 student chefs and 28 student bartenders simultaneously prepared 28 traditional dishes and 28 beverages, representing all 28 Indian states, in an astonishing 28 minutes.

The record-setting event was organized on National Tourism Day to showcase the diversity of India’s regional cuisines and beverages while highlighting the country’s vibrant cultural traditions. Working in perfect synchronization, the students demonstrated exceptional culinary skills, speed, teamwork, and precision, transforming the event into a spectacular tribute to India’s gastronomic heritage.

The initiative aimed to promote culinary tourism, hospitality education, cultural diversity, and national unity by presenting authentic regional delicacies from across the country on a single platform. It also provided aspiring hospitality professionals with an opportunity to showcase their talent while emphasizing the importance of preserving and celebrating India’s traditional food culture.
