Gameshow Winner Sets World Record for Eating 15 Fish Fingers in One Minute

Nathan Davies, a 32-year-old project manager from Westhoughton, Bolton, has earned a place in World Records after eating 15 fish fingers in just 60 seconds. The remarkable achievement came after Davies promised to attempt the record during his appearance on ITV’s popular quiz show The 1% Club, hosted by Lee Mack.

Davies, who also won £98,000 on the gameshow, decided to pursue the unusual record because of his fondness for fish fingers. He revealed that he always keeps around 20 fish fingers in his freezer, making the challenge seem both fun and achievable. His successful attempt officially secured him the world record for the most fish fingers eaten in one minute.

Reflecting on the challenge, Davies admitted that the freshly cooked fish fingers were extremely hot and believed he could have eaten even more had they been given additional time to cool. Despite the difficulty, he expressed his delight at becoming a Guinness World Records title holder, saying he was simply happy to have achieved the feat.

Before appearing on The 1% Club, Davies had watched only a handful of episodes and wanted to create a memorable impression among the contestants. His quirky idea not only helped him stand out on the show but also led to an official world record, turning an unusual promise into an unforgettable achievement.
