Centers Health Care has set a new World Records title for the “Largest Seated Dance Lesson – Multiple Venues,” bringing together 696 participants across its network of skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities in the Northeast.

The record-setting event formed part of the organization’s annual “Care That Moves You” initiative, which promotes healthy movement, community participation and social connection among residents, staff, families and community members.

A total of 696 participants took part in the synchronized seated dance lesson, following the same choreography across multiple locations at the same time. The event demonstrated that movement and physical activity can be made accessible to people of different ages and mobility levels, while also creating a shared experience across long-term care communities.

Centers Health Care operates 36 skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities across the Northeast, and the record attempt brought together participants from multiple sites in a coordinated dance activity. Preparation for the attempt began months in advance, with facility leaders coordinating logistics and participation requirements. World Records representatives were involved in the verification process to ensure that the attempt met the required standards for participant counts, synchronized activity and qualifying procedures.

The seated dance lesson was organised as part of Centers Health Care’s annual “Care That Moves You” initiative. According to the organization, the purpose extended beyond setting a record. The event aimed to create joy, encourage healthy movement and strengthen connections among residents, staff, families and communities.

The achievement highlights how long-term care facilities can use creative activities to promote both physical engagement and social interaction. With 696 participants joining a synchronized seated dance across multiple venues, Centers Health Care established a Guinness World Records title while reinforcing the message that movement can bring people together regardless of age or mobility.
