Prime Minister Narendra Modi has added another major international recognition to his list of global honours after being conferred with Uzbekistan’s prestigious “Oliy Darajali Do’stlik” Order, taking his reported tally of international honours to 35.

The award was presented to Prime Minister Modi by Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in recognition of his contribution to strengthening friendship and bilateral relations between India and Uzbekistan.

The Oliy Darajali Do’stlik Order, translated as the Order of Highest Friendship, is Uzbekistan’s highest honour for foreign leaders.

While accepting the award, Prime Minister Modi dedicated the honour to the 1.4 billion people of India, describing it as a symbol of the enduring friendship between India and Uzbekistan.

The recognition also reflects the strengthening of the India-Uzbekistan partnership and the longstanding cultural and civilisational ties between the two countries.

With the latest recognition from Uzbekistan, PM Modi has reportedly received 35 international honours, including prestigious state and national awards from countries across Asia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the Americas and the Pacific.

Among the prominent honours associated with PM Modi are recognitions from Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Palestine, the Maldives, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Russia, the United States, Bhutan, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Egypt, France, Greece, Nigeria, Dominica, Guyana, Kuwait, Barbados, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Cyprus, Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Brazil, Namibia, Ethiopia, Oman, Slovakia, Norway, Sweden, Israel, Seychelles, Indonesia and Uzbekistan.

These honours have been presented over the years in recognition of areas including diplomatic engagement, international cooperation and efforts to strengthen bilateral relationships.

The latest honour comes as India and Uzbekistan continue to deepen their strategic partnership across diplomatic, economic, investment, transport, cultural and other areas. The conferment of the Oliy Darajali Do’stlik Order marks another significant diplomatic recognition for Prime Minister Modi and highlights the growing engagement between India and Uzbekistan on the global stage.
