Scottish DJ and music producer Calvin Harris has officially earned a World Records title after performing in front of an estimated 1.6 million people in São Paulo, Brazil.
Harris achieved the record for the largest attendance for a DJ set by a single artist during a spectacular performance from a carnival float on Rua da Consolação in São Paulo in February.
The massive Brazilian crowd enjoyed some of Harris’ biggest international hits, including “This Is What You Came For,” “One Kiss,” “I Need Your Love” and “We Found Love.” The performance also marked his first appearance in Brazil in more than a decade.
G World Records officially recognized the achievement, confirming the estimated attendance of 1.6 million people.
Harris celebrated the announcement on social media, describing the performance as an unforgettable experience and sharing photographs and videos showing the extraordinary scale of the crowd. For the occasion, he also wore a customized Brazilian football shirt featuring the name “Calvinho.”
World Records adjudicator Will Munford highlighted Harris’ ability to bring people together through music and described the enormous turnout in São Paulo as an extraordinary achievement.
The record adds another major milestone to Harris’ successful international career as a DJ, producer and songwriter. With approximately 1.6 million people gathering for a single DJ performance, the São Paulo event has now secured its place in World Records history.
