Five-Year-Old Phoenix Giselle Hicks Becomes World’s Youngest Female Yoga Instructor

American youngster Phoenix Giselle Hicks has earned global recognition after becoming the youngest female yoga instructor, an achievement featured in the World Records 2027 edition.

Phoenix achieved the World Records title at just 5 years and 337 days old after successfully completing a demanding 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training course.

Her journey into yoga began remarkably early. Phoenix first experienced yoga when she was only three months old, attending “Mummy and Me” classes. What began as an early childhood activity gradually developed into a passion for learning and teaching yoga.

Completing professional yoga teacher training at such a young age required considerable dedication. Phoenix studied alongside adults, learning about anatomy, yoga practices and teaching techniques. She also completed reading assignments, written work, daily classes and required practice-teaching hours.

Now eight years old, Phoenix continues to practise and teach yoga. She leads sessions for children and adults alongside her mother in Houston, Texas, combining physical movement with breathing and relaxation exercises.

Before conducting a class, Phoenix practises her yoga flow and performs breathwork to help herself remain calm and focused. Her favourite posture is the tree pose, which she enjoys because of the challenge of maintaining balance.

Phoenix says she feels proud to lead others through yoga and enjoys seeing members of her community experience calmness and relaxation.

Her extraordinary accomplishment has now secured a place in the World Records, demonstrating how an interest developed during infancy grew into a record-breaking achievement before she had even turned six.
