Nissan Motor India has set a remarkable automotive record for the “Largest Convoy of Single-Model 4-Wheeler to Reach Leh,” with a convoy of 60 Nissan Tekton SUVs successfully completing a challenging drive from Chandigarh to Leh. The record-setting media experience drive took the convoy across demanding Himalayan terrain, including the 16,703-foot-high Shinku La, before passing through the spectacular Zanskar region and reaching Leh in Ladakh.
A total of 60 Nissan Tekton SUVs participated in the journey, travelling together as a single-model convoy from Chandigarh to Leh. The route provided a demanding real-world environment for the vehicles, combining high-altitude roads, rugged terrain and challenging driving conditions. Crossing Shinku La at an elevation of 16,703 feet was among the major highlights of the journey. The convoy then continued through the Zanskar region before successfully arriving in Leh, completing the record-setting drive.
Beyond establishing a record, the media experience drive was designed to showcase the durability, reliability, off-road capability and engineering of the Nissan Tekton SUVs. Driving through high-altitude Himalayan terrain provided an opportunity to demonstrate the vehicles’ capabilities under demanding conditions considerably different from everyday urban driving. The successful arrival of all 60 Nissan Tekton SUVs in Leh marked the completion of the record-setting convoy and highlighted the scale of the automotive expedition. With 60 vehicles of the same model travelling from Chandigarh, crossing the 16,703-foot Shinku La and navigating through Zanskar to reach Leh, Nissan Motor India has established a distinctive milestone in automotive convoy achievements in India.
