Canadian Saul Hafting continues to hold an unusual World Records title after solving an incredible 211 Rubik’s Cubes while bouncing on a pogo stick.
Hafting, from Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia, Canada, achieved the feat in 2021 when he was just 16 years old. Now 21, his distinctive achievement remains listed in the World Records 2027 edition.
His inspiration came from Chinese speedcuber Xia Yan, who had achieved a \ World Records title for solving a Rubik’s Cube while on a pogo stick in just 9.613 seconds. Rather than attempting to beat the speed record, Hafting decided to pursue a different challenge—solving the greatest number of cubes while continuing to bounce.
Hafting developed an interest in speedcubing at the age of 11 while growing up in the small Nova Scotian community of Annapolis Royal. Combining his cubing ability with the physical challenge of staying balanced on a pogo stick eventually led to his record attempt.
Although achieving a World Records title did not bring a cash prize, Hafting received an official certificate and international recognition for his accomplishment.
Today, Hafting is studying computer science at Dalhousie University and hopes to pursue a career in cybersecurity. His unusual record remains a memorable achievement and a unique addition to his personal profile.
The feat demonstrates how combining two very different skills—speedcubing and pogo-stick bouncing—can result in an extraordinary world record.
