Yan Yanjia Sets World Record by Spinning 33 Hula Hoops While Upside Down

Chinese hula hoop enthusiast Yan Yanjia has achieved an extraordinary World Records title after successfully spinning 33 hula hoops simultaneously while suspended upside down.

The unusual record attempt took place in Guilin, Guangxi, where Yan was suspended upside down from playground equipment. Two friends helped place the hula hoops over his head and position them around his hips before he began the record-breaking performance.

Yan successfully kept all 33 hoops spinning for the required duration, earning the World Records title for the Most Hula Hoops Spun While Suspended Upside Down. His performance surpassed the previous record by an impressive 10 hoops.

Yan’s journey into hula hooping began eight years ago as part of an effort to improve his fitness. In 2018, after being advised by his doctor to lose weight, he began exercising with a 2-kg hula hoop. Over time, what started as a fitness activity developed into an exceptional skill and ultimately a world-record achievement.

His remarkable feat required tremendous core strength, balance, coordination and concentration, particularly while performing from an inverted position.
