The Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Maharashtra, has achieved a remarkable World Record for preparing the Largest Quantity of Nachni (Finger Millet) Halwa in a Single Vessel. Under the guidance of Preeti Hiralkar, District Superintendent Agriculture Officer, Gadchiroli, a massive 1,184.5 kilograms of Nachni Halwa was continuously cooked in a single kadhai, setting a new benchmark in culinary excellence and agricultural promotion.
The record-setting initiative showcased the nutritional value and versatility of Nachni (Finger Millet), a traditional millet known for its rich health benefits. The preparation was carried out with meticulous planning and coordination, demonstrating the region’s commitment to promoting sustainable and nutritious food practices.
Beyond achieving a world record, the event aimed to encourage millet consumption, spread nutrition awareness, and celebrate the rich tribal food heritage of Gadchiroli. The initiative also aligned with broader efforts to promote millets as a healthy dietary choice and support local agricultural produce.
