The Department of Dialysis Technology and the Department of Nephrology at MES College of Allied Health Sciences, Perinthalmanna, have achieved a remarkable World Record for the Maximum Participation in a Medical Engagement Programme Coordinated by an Individual. Organized at MES Medical College and Hospital on the occasion of World Kidney Day, the programme, titled “Healing Through Happiness,” brought together 81 participants, including 44 Dialysis Technology students and 37 patients, in a unique initiative promoting holistic healthcare.
The event focused on strengthening the bond between healthcare professionals, students, and patients through meaningful interactions and activities designed to foster emotional well-being alongside medical care. By encouraging compassion, positivity, and patient engagement, the programme highlighted the importance of a patient-centric approach in improving healthcare experiences.
Held as part of World Kidney Day celebrations, the initiative also emphasized kidney health awareness while showcasing the vital role of empathy and human connection in the healing process. The enthusiastic participation of students and patients reflected the institution’s commitment to combining clinical excellence with compassionate care.
