Tam Anh TP. Ho Chi Minh General Hospital Joint Stock Company has set an Asian record for performing the maximum number of successful brain and spinal cord surgeries using an AI-powered robotic system, completing 208 successful surgical cases with the Modus V Synaptive platform.
The surgeries were performed between May 2023 and November 2025, with the hospital using the Modus V Synaptive robotic system integrated with artificial intelligence to support complex neurosurgical procedures involving the brain and spine.
A total of 208 brain and spinal cord surgeries were successfully carried out using the AI-powered robotic platform. The technology has been applied in procedures involving conditions such as brain tumours, haemorrhagic stroke, meningiomas, pituitary adenomas, pineal region tumours and spinal tumours. By combining robotic guidance with advanced 3D imaging, the system helps surgeons visualise anatomical structures, tumour margins and important neural pathways during complex operations.
The Modus V Synaptive system is designed to assist neurosurgeons with improved visualisation, surgical planning and instrument control. Integrated imaging allows doctors to access information from technologies including MRI, CT, CTA and DSA, helping support real-time decision-making during surgery. According to the record source, the robotic system has helped the hospital enhance surgical accuracy while supporting safer and more efficient neurosurgical procedures.
After evaluation of the hospital’s record dossier, the Asia Book of Records officially recognised Tam Anh General Hospital for achieving the highest number of successful brain and spinal cord surgeries in Asia using the AI-integrated Modus V Synaptive robotic system. The record was formally conferred on February 26, 2026, at Tam Anh Research Institute in Ho Chi Minh City.
