UAE-based Indians Jamsheer Thanalot, Abhishek Rawat and Isha Raj were among 65 skydivers who took part in a record-setting international skydive over Benghazi, Libya, carrying national flags from approximately 13,000 feet.
Three Indians based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have become part of a remarkable world-record achievement after participating in a mass international skydive involving 65 skydivers representing around 38 nationalities.
Jamsheer Thanalot, Abhishek Rawat and Isha Raj represented India during the spectacular aerial event, which saw approximately 35 different national flags displayed in the skies above Benghazi.
The record-setting jump took place on Friday, August 7, with participants exiting the aircraft at an altitude of approximately 13,000 feet.
The challenge involved considerably more than simply completing a skydive. After leaving the aircraft, each participant had to safely deploy their parachute and unfurl a large national flag while descending.
The skydivers also needed to prevent their flags from becoming entangled with parachute equipment, maintain safe separation from other participants and successfully land within a designated area.
Cameras monitored the attempt to provide evidence for the record-verification process.
For the Indian participants — Jamsheer Thanalot, Abhishek Rawat and Isha Raj — the achievement carried additional significance as they displayed the Indian national flag thousands of feet above Libya.
Their participation placed the Indian Tricolour alongside dozens of national flags in an international event bringing together skydivers from countries across the world.
Although the jump took place on August 7, the world-record achievement was confirmed only after the evidence from the attempt had been reviewed.
The confirmation came shortly before India’s Independence Day, making the accomplishment especially memorable for the three UAE-based Indian participants.
The feat combined adventure, precision, international participation and national pride, with dozens of skydivers successfully coordinating one of the most visually striking record attempts in the skies over Benghazi.
