Vels Vidyashram, Darga Road, Pallavaram, has achieved a remarkable World Record for the Most Reusable Utility Bags Made by Students. Demonstrating exceptional creativity and environmental responsibility, 3,003 students collectively created an astounding 9,091 reusable utility bags in just 30 minutes, setting a new benchmark in sustainable innovation.
The record-setting initiative featured a variety of eco-friendly products, including newspaper pouches, paper bags, and reusable utility bags, all crafted from recycled materials such as old newspapers, calendar sheets, used T-shirts, and cloth. By transforming waste into practical everyday items, the students showcased the importance of recycling, resource conservation, and sustainable living.
The campaign was organized to promote environmental awareness and encourage young minds to adopt eco-conscious practices by reducing dependence on single-use plastic bags. Through hands-on participation, the initiative inspired students to become ambassadors of sustainability while highlighting the value of creativity in protecting the environment.
