A breathtaking performance by 13,000 tribal schoolgirls has earned a World Records title for the largest Dhimsa dance performance at the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport in Bhogapuram, Andhra Pradesh. The historic cultural event showcased the rich tribal heritage of the state while celebrating unity, tradition, and artistic excellence on an unprecedented scale.
The participants, all students of Classes VIII, IX, and X, represented the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) regions of Paderu, Seethampeta, Parvathipuram, and Rampachodavaram. Dressed in traditional pink sarees with green borders and matching green blouses, the girls created a visually stunning spectacle as they performed the energetic and rhythmic Dhimsa dance, a traditional tribal folk dance deeply rooted in the culture of Andhra Pradesh.
To ensure perfect synchronization and visibility, the performers were arranged into 433 circular formations, each comprising around 50 dancers. Their coordinated movements, vibrant attire, and powerful representation of tribal life and nature captivated the audience and highlighted the cultural richness of the region.
The achievement was officially recognized by World Records, with representatives from London witnessing the performance and presenting the world record certificate to Tribal Welfare Minister Gummadi Sandhya Rani. Tribal Welfare Principal Secretary M. M. Naik hailed the event as a historic milestone, praising the dedication of the students, organizers, and officials whose collective efforts made the record-breaking cultural celebration possible.
