The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has achieved a remarkable World Record for the Maximum Participation in a Coastal Cyclothon by a Central Armed Police Force. The record-setting initiative, titled “Vande Mataram CISF Coastal Cyclothon–2026,” brought together 130 cyclists, including 100 riders and 30 reserve cyclists, in one of the largest coastal cycling expeditions ever undertaken by a Central Armed Police Force.
The cyclothon covered an extraordinary 6,533 kilometres across nine states and two Union Territories, with participants divided into two flanks. The Western Route commenced from Lakhpat Fort, Gujarat, while the Eastern Route began at Bakkhali, West Bengal. Both teams traversed India’s vast coastline before successfully concluding their journey at Kochi, Kerala.
The nationwide expedition was organized to promote coastal security awareness, national unity, and public participation in safeguarding India’s maritime borders. Along the route, CISF personnel engaged with local communities, highlighting the strategic importance of coastal security while encouraging citizens to contribute towards strengthening national security and environmental responsibility.
